Felis Concolor, Puma, Cougar, Mountain Lion

Which ever name you prefer, these predators are awe-inspiring. With powerful jaws and sharp claws, a mountain lion is fully capable of killing a mature bull elk.  In order to manage our elk and deer herds for maximum trophy potential, it is necessary that we also manage our predator populations. Therefore, Vermejo Park Ranch is providing the opportunity for a few hunters to pursue one of the most unique and elusive big game animals in North America . While mountain lions are plentiful here on Vermejo, these secretive cats are seldom seen. Well-trained tracking dogs are essential for a successful hunt.

Come to Vermejo Park Ranch and enjoy the adventure of a guided mountain lion hunt. Experience the thrill of finding a track in the fresh snow, hearing the hounds baying on a crisp winter morning, and finally seeing your trophy mountain lion at the end of the chase. With breath-taking scenery, knowledgeable guides, and first rate hospitality, you won't be disappointed.

Five Day Hunt: $4500 (Dec. - Mar.) Lodging, meals and license are included.  Hunters may take a cow elk at no additional charge.  State elk license is not included.

To reserve a hunt, please contact John Sakelaris at 575-445-3097.

For additional information, contact Greg Carpenter (Guide) at 575-643-5427 (cell).
