Fishing & Sport Shooting
With 17 fishable lake and more than 30 miles of streams, Vermejo is a fisherman’s paradise. The unmatched acreage of the fishing venues on the ranch allows for a completely customizable and practically private experience, allowing our guests to spend the day casting in one of the most beautiful settings in the world.
Vermejo also has a variety of sport shooting activities from which to choose. Whether your preference is archery or sporting clays, the shooting ranges on the ranch are designed to be enjoyable at all skill levels. From a 3D archery range to a 5-stand sporting clay, guests have several offerings to enhance their talents.
With careful management and conservative harvests, Vermejo has witnessed improvements to the herd numbers of many species over the years, specifically among New Mexico elk tags, therefore allowing hunts for certain animals each year.
